Universal Television and Walt Disney Television have each upped business affairs execs to VP positions.
Gary Gradinger has been promoted to vice president, business affairs, Universal Television, it was announced by Vance Van Petten, exec VP, business affairs and administration, Universal Television.
“This promotion acknowledges Gary’s hard work, exemplary negotiating skills as well as his relationships and stellar reputation within the company and the entertainment community,” said Van Petten, to whom Gradinger will continue to report.
Gradinger previously served as director, business affairs, and currently handles the day-to-day duties of the series “Something So Right,” “The Tom Show” and “Sliders.”
Laurie Burstein Megery has also been promoted to VP of business affairs at Walt Disney Television, it was announced by Alan Duke, senior VP, business and legal affairs for Walt Disney Network Television.
“Laurie has demonstrated outstanding skill in negotiating a wide array of production contracts for ‘The Wonderful World of Disney,’ handling an extremely challenging position with great poise and composure.”
Megery will continue to handle “The Wonderful World of Disney” franchise, negotiating above-the-line deals for actors, producers, writers and directors, including the acquisition of underlying rights.
Megery joined Disney in 1995 as director, business affairs, Walt Disney Network Television.
