Torn inks to host ‘Ghost’

Rip Torn has signed on as host of All American TV’s new weekly, one-hour anthology series “Ghost Stories,” which debuts in September.

The series, to be produced by New Dominion Pictures, will offer two scary tales per episode. Special effects will be handled by Mike Schorr, who was responsible for effects of “Waterworld,” “The Abyss” and “Clear and Present Danger,” and Brian Penikas, who worked on the effects of “Batman Forever.”

Torn is an Emmy award-winning actor on “The Larry Sanders Show” and has appeared in features such as “How to Make an American Quilt,” “Down Periscope” and the upcoming “Men in Black.”

“Ghost Stories,” sold for barter with a 50-50 split, joins All American’s other weekly hours at NATPE: “Baywatch” and “Sinbad,” as well as its new daily gameshows and the talkshow “Arthel & Fred.”
