Larry Fessenden has been picked for this year’s Swatch Someone to Watch Award for his New York gothic film “Habit.”
Fessenden penned, directed, edited and starred in the pic, which premiered at last year’s Chicago Intl. Film Festival and was screened at Slamdance and the Los Angeles Intl. Film Festival. “Habit,” first cut by Fessenden on video in 1980 while he was a student at NYU, is the story of a man lured into a web of addiction and madness by a mysteri-ous stranger.
The $20,000 award, jointly created by Independent Feature Project/West and Swatch USA and funded by Swatch, will be presented this Saturday at the Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica.
