Super Bowl’s singing ‘Blues’

James Brown, ZZ Top and the Blues Brothers will be the featured attraction at the halftime show for this year’s Super Bowl XXX at New Orleans’ Superdome. “Blues Brothers Bash,” featuring Dan Aykroyd, James Be-lushi and John Goodman, will be created and produced by Radio City Prods., Select Prods. and House of Blues Entertainment. Oscar Mayer is the show’s sponsor.

Radio City Prods. has created and produced several lavish Super Bowl halftime shows, among them last year’s Di-ana Ross concert and Super Bowl XXVII’s “Heal the World” show featuring Michael Jackson. Select Prods. staged a “Salute to New Orleans” for Super Bowl XXIV. Select prexy Dennie Despie produced three halftime shows for Walt Disney Prods. and “Rockin’ Country Sunday” for Super Bowl XXVIII.

Fox will broadcast the NFL’s championship game, which is being played on Jan. 26. The game’s audience is estimated at 800 million viewers worldwide.
