A stalker obsessed with Hollywood director Steven Spielberg intended to handcuff and rape him, a prosecutor alleged in transcripts of closed grand jury proceedings released Wednesday.
Jonathan Norman, 29, faces trial Jan. 13 on a stalking charge. Details of the case had been under seal.
The documents detail allegations made by Deputy District Attorney Rhonda Saunders and others to the grand jury in October.
In her opening statement, Saunders told the panel that Norman admitted “this obsession with raping” Spielberg after he was caught several times near the director’s Pacific Palisades property last summer.
At the time of his arrest last summer near Spielberg’s home, Norman identified himself as Spielberg’s adopted son, the prosecutor said.
Security personnel who testified before the grand jury said they found a box cutter knife blade, razor blades, duct tape, handcuffs and a key on him. Two more pairs of handcuffs were in the vehicle he was driving.
