:ShoWest has named Arnon Milchan producer of the year, following a year in which his Regency Enterprises produced such films as “A Time to Kill” and “Tin Cup” and lined up new partners such as Samsung and the Kirch Group.

Milchan will be honored at the ShoWest Awards on March 6. The org said Milchan was being feted for his “distinguished contribution to the film industry over the past 20 years.”

Among Milchan’s top hits as a producer this decade have been “Free Willy,” “Pretty Woman,” “Under Siege,” “JFK” and “The Client.”

Upcoming Regency films include “L.A. Confidential,” based on James Ellroy’s book; “Murder at 1600,” starring Wesley Snipes and Diane Lane; “Watch That Man” starring Bill Murray; and “Mad City,” starring Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta.
