Humanitas Prize finalists have been announced, with 28 TV and motion picture writers (from a field of more than 425) in the running for the cash awards that honor the creators of TV and film product that most fully communicate human values to their auds. Winners will share $120,000 in prize money, and will be announced July 9 at a luncheon at the Universal Sheraton hotel. Lancit Media has cut a deal with Outward Bound, the adventure-based educational organization, to co-produce a series that will follow youngsters on wilderness journeys of adventure and self-discovery. Now in discussion for distribution, the series will offer a kids-eye view into how the Outward Bound experience works and leads to developing self-respect and teamwork.
