Semler inks with Morris

Australian director and Oscar-winning cinematographer Dean Semler, who just completed production at the helm of Fox’s “Firestorm,” has signed with the William Morris Agency.

Semler will be repped by a team led by Rob Carlson, Alan Gasmer and Ramses IsHak. He will continue to be repped in cinematography by Crayton Smith at Smith-Gosnell-Nicholson & Associates.

“Firestorm,” which stars Howie Long and Scott Glenn, is slated to be released this fall. Semler is currently attached to direct the Morgan Creek feature “Eye of the Tiger,” based on the Wilbur Smith novel. Gerald Brown and Harley Peyton wrote the screenplay.

Semler won an Oscar and an American Society of Cinematographers Award for lensing “Dances With Wolves.” He also was director of photography on such high-profile projects as “Waterworld,” “The Three Musketeers” and “City Slickers.”

Semler is managed by the Ruddy-Morgan Organization. His attorney is Jake Bloom.
