Rob Schneider, who co-stars in NBC’s freshman comedy series “Men Behaving Badly,” is set to join Jean-Claude Van Damme and Paul Sorvino in Hong Kong helmer Tsui Hark’s actioner “Knock Off.”
Pic is produced by Mark Damon’s MDP Worldwide and indie producer Moshe Diamant.
Lela Rochon (“Waiting to Exhale” and the upcoming “Gang Related”) also has been cast in the $35 million pic, set to go before the cameras later this month.
“Knock Off” is scripted by Steven de Souza (first two “Die Hard” pics), who wrote “Judge Dredd,” the Sylvester Stallone-starrer in which Schneider co-starred.
A former “Saturday Night Live” cast member, Schneider’s segue to film has included roles in “Demolition Man,” “The Beverly Hillbillies,” “Home Alone 2,” “Down Periscope” and “Pinocchio.”
Schneider recently left UTA to sign with the William Morris Agency, where he is repped by agents Michael Gruber, John Kimble, Ann Blanchard and Randi Michel. The thesp also was repped on this deal by attorney Paul F. Mayershon of Surpin, Mayershon & Edelstone, and his manager John Schneider.
