Gaspar Noe, who helmed the award-winning, 40-minute “Carne,” has inked to direct the erotic drama “The Story of the Eye” for Redhead Films, the company announced Wednesday.
Pic, announced last year in Cannes, is still looking for pre-buys. Redhead recently sold Scandinavian rights to the pic to Angel Films. That will cover some 15% of the budget.
“Eye,” which explores the sexual fantasies and extremes of a 21-year-old boy, is being produced by the Coproduction Office and Redhead.
Noe’s “Carne” won the Prix Tres Special award in Cannes in 1992. He is currently working on his second feature, “Morality,” which is slated to be screened at the Venice Film Festival.
