CANNES — Polygram Filmed Entertainment confirmed it is seeking Japanese equity investment in its big-budget Robin Williams-Cuba Gooding Jr. project, “What Dreams May Come.”

Polygram is seeking 20% of the budget, which now stands at close to $80 million.

Japan is the only major territory where Polygram does not have its own distrib arm.

PFE label Interscope is producing the film, an f/x -laden exploration of an afterlife fantasy helmed by Vincent Ward (“Map of the Human Heart”).
