Partygoers have a case of the ‘Blues’ at Venice preem

Legacy Releasing and BMG Independents rolled out their new indie comedy pic “Wedding Bell Blues” at the Nu Wilshire theater in Santa Monica on Wednesday night, followed by an SRO bash at the Mobay eatery in Venice that was sponsored by Venice magazine and EV1 General Electric.

“Bell,” the work of first-time feature helmer Dana Lustig and first-time feature scribe Annette Goliti Gutierrez, focuses on three unmarried women hitting 30 and desperate for nuptial satisfaction.

Over cocktails, empanadas and jerk chicken, the packed-in partyers — including Morgan Freeman, who’s awaiting release of actioner “The Flood”; former Kid in the Hall and current “NewsRadio” co-star Dave Foley; and “Addicted to Love” helmer Griffin Dunne — pondered the Curb Entertainment pic’s lively musings on marriage, love, sex and Vegas aesthetics.

Also on hand to celebrate the film’s Friday bow were its trio of female stars — Illeana Douglas (“To Die For”); supermodel Paulina Porizkova, with rock-star hubby Ric Ocasek of ’80s power-pop band the Cars; Julie Warner (“Tommy Boy”); and co-star Jonathan Penner.
