MGM has tapped veteran marketing exec Doug Gleason as senior VP of marketing for MGM consumer products, a division of the recently merged MGM home entertainment/consumer products division.
Gleason was most recently VP of publicity and promotion for 20th Century Fox Intl, handling corporate tie-ins for the “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” movie, among other campaigns.
Prior to that, he was with the Walt Disney Co. from 1987 to 1991 as director of marketing in the studio’s consumer products division and earlier as direct of worldwide promotions for the Disney homevid division.
At Disney he negotiated and handled national promotions with Coca Cola, Proctor & Gamble, General Foods and Nabisco, among other companies.
Gleason began his career as a brand manager for Carnation Co. and as a marketing manager for Pepsi.
