John Woodrow Loveton

John Woodrow Loveton, a producer and director in radio and early television, died Jan. 17 of natural causes at his home in Penn Valley. He was 84.

Loveton directed numerous radio programs throughout his career, including “Your Hit Parade,” “Aunt Jenny,” “The Shadow” and “The Goodwill Hour.”

During the early years of TV, he directed episodes of “Mr. and Mrs. North” and “Topper.”

He is survived by his wife, a son, three daughters, thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

There will be no services. Family suggests donations in Loveton’s name be sent to Trinity Episcopal Church, Nevada City, CA, or St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, 47535 Highway 74, Palm Desert, CA 92260.
