CANNES — Sweetland Films has appointed Guy East and Nigel Sinclair’s Intermedia to handle international distribution for four new pics, including Woody Allen’s “Deconstructing Harry” and David Mamet’s “The Spanish Prisoner.”Due for delivery in July, “Deconstructing Harry” stars Allen along with Kirstie Alley, Billy Crystal, Robin Williams and Elisabeth Shue. Written and directed by Mamet, “Spanish Prisoner” stars Steve Martin, Ben Gazzara and Campbell Scott. The other two films in the package are Barbara Kopple’s untitled docu about Allen’s European jazz tour last year, and American indie “Elements.” Jean Doumanian produced all four.Allen’s last three pics were released by Miramax Films. Those deals were negotiated by Miramax exec VP of business and legal affairs John Logigian, who recently ankled to join Jean Doumanian Prods. Sweetland will work with Intermedia to line up distribution for the Allen pic in the U.K., France, Germany, Italy and Spain. U.S. distribution deals for all four films are currently in negotiation. The deal between Intermedia and Sweetland was put together by CAA’s John Ptak.
