Freeman eyes White House run

Morgan Freeman has been offered the keys to the Oval Office in Paramount Pictures’ and DreamWorks’ asteroid pic “Deep Impact,” to be directed by Mimi Leder and produced by David Brown, Richard Zanuck and Steven Spielberg. The role of the U.S. president in the sci-fier, which requires only a 10-day shoot, would be a departure from the gritty dramas Freeman is involved in: The actor is starring in DreamWorks’ historical drama “Amistad” for Spielberg and Par’s thriller “Kiss the Girls.” Additionally, DreamWorks will have foreign rights on “Deep Impact” and Paramount will distribute domestically.
