Henson series set HBO airing

HBO has struck a deal with Jim Henson Prods. to air a “lost” episode of the “Jim Henson’s The Storyteller” animated series as well as four installments of “Jim Henson’s Greek Myths” that have never been seen on U.S. television.

The Time Warner paycabler plans to rerun all nine episode of “The Storyteller,” which premiered on HBO in 1987, beginning in November. Among those nine will be the “lost” segment, entitled “The Three Ravens,” which was, like every episode in the series, written by the Oscar-winning Anthony Minghella (“The English Patient”).

The four unseen episodes of “Greek Myths” are titled “Daedalus and Icarus,” “Theseus and the Minotaur,” “Orpheus and Eurydice” and “Perseus and the Gorgon.” Neither “The Storyteller” nor “Greek Myths” has ever been available on homevideo or in syndication in the U.S.

Said Brian Henson, prexy and CEO of Jim Henson Prods.: “My father was extremely proud of these series … and now audiences will finally get to see them in their entirety.”
