Daryl Hannah and Mae Whitman, the 8-year-old co-star of “Independence Day,” have inked to join the new Robert Altman-helmed pic “The Gingerbread Man,” sources said Wednesday.
Whitman will play the daughter of Kenneth Branagh in the thriller pic about a woman (Embeth Davidtz) who hires an attorney to help her deal with a man she claims is a stalker.
Hannah plays an attorney who works with Branagh and provides some key info.
Island Pictures president Mark Burg is set to produce the pic for Island/Polygram. Pic, which is written by legal-thriller scribe John Grisham, is slated to start shooting Jan. 28 in Savannah, Ga.
Hannah most recently worked with Altman on “The Gun,” an anthology series for ABC. She also just finished “The Real Blonde” for Paramount.
Hannah’s deal was brokered by UTA’s Adam Isaacs. She is managed by Chuck Binder.
