:NEW YORK – Dimension Films, the genre label of Miramax Films, has picked up Robert Franke’s original screenplay “Lunatic Fringe,” a futuristic action-thriller about a group of misfits who band together to perform a daring rescue.

It will be the first feature film produced by Grand Design Entertainment and directed by David Douglas. Grand Design and Douglas achieved notoriety by sneaking onto the Sony lot to make their short, “For the Cause.”

“Lunatic Fringe” was brought to Dimension by the company’s veepees of production and development, Richard Potter and Andrew Rona, who will oversee the project.

Franke is repped by Ramses IsHak, Alan Gasmer and Rob Carlson of the William Morris Agency. He is also the author of “Made Men” at Silver Pictures.
