Estefan exits WMA for CAA

Pop diva Gloria Estefan has left William Morris after 15 years of representation to be repped in all areas by Creative Artists Agency. The singer has been wanting to segue into a feature film career for some time.

The signing is a major coup for CAA. Estefan is one of the top-10 tour grossers in the country and her addition gives CAA a lock on the diva market, as it also reps Mariah Carey, Madonna, Barbra Streisand, Tina Turner, Janet Jackson and Celine Dion. Estefan’s tour last year supporting her Columbia Records disc “Destiny” grossed around $50 million worldwide and was sponsored by Sears.

The signing comes after almost two years of persistence by CAA’s Emanuel Nunez, who will rep her along with Rick Nicita, Kevin Huvane and Tom Ross.

Estefan and her husband, Emilio, are partnered in Estefan Enterprises, which runs a music publishing, record label and management business as well as hotels and restaurants.
