Goldie Hawn, Diane Keaton and Bette Midler, who starred in the box office hit “The First Wives Club,” will be honored at the Women in Film Crystal Awards luncheon June 13 at the Century Plaza Hotel.
The awards were established 20 years ago to pay tribute to outstanding women who, through their endurance and excellence of their work, have helped enhance the role of women within the entertainment industry.
“With ‘First Wives Club,’ they proved to the other studios that such a film could not only be done, but could be-come one of the leading box office hits of the year,” noted WIF president Iris Grossman. The film grossed $105 million domestically.
Past recipients of the award include Anjelica Huston, Angela Bassett, marketing executives Buffy Shutt and Kathy Jones, Sherry Lansing, Maya Angelou, Julie Andrews, Barbra Streisand, Michelle Pfeiffer, Carol Burnett and Alfre Woodard.
