Col bows German prod’n arm

BERLIN — Columbia TriStar is establishing a feature film production arm in Germany. Deutsche Columbia TriStar Film Production GmbH will open an office in Munich on Jan. 1.

The new company plans to produce four to five German-lingo pics a year. Columbia TriStar will finance the 4 million-8 million mark ($2.3 million-$4.5 million) projects, but the company may apply for subsidy coin.

Andrea Willson, previously head of domestic fiction production for German commercial web RTL2, has been named managing director of the firm.
