Universal has picked up for a mid-six-figure option price “Catch a Falling Star,” a pitch by writer/director Michael Cohn.
Cohn, who recently penned the screenplay for “A Corpse Bride” for Tim Burton, is on board to write and direct “Catch a Falling Star” for U-based Joseph N. Singer Entertainment.
“Catch a Falling Star” is described as a heartwarming, slice-of-life story about a mysterious man with an extraordinary gift, who travels to a small, desolate town and teaches the inhabitants about all aspects of love.
Cohn recently rewrote and helmed “Snow White in the Black Forest,” starring Sigourney Weaver, for Interscope.
The filmmaker was repped on the deal by David McIlvain of Major Clients Agency and attorney Karl Austen of Armstrong, Hirsch.
