Clifford inks Viacom deal

Viacom Prods. has inked an exclusive overall development deal with producer Patricia Clifford to develop and produce telefilms and miniseries.

As part of the deal, Brian Dennehy will also develop and exec produce projects on a non-exclusive, first-look basis with Clifden Prods., a joint venture formed by the actor and producer.

Clifford and Dennehy have worked together on numerous projects including the TNT movie “Foreign Affairs” and NBC telefilms “Jack Reed: A Killer Among Us,” and “Jack Reed: Death & Vengeance.” The two NBC telefilms were produced by Clifford and written and directed by Dennehy, who also starred.

Clifford has produced more than a dozen movies and two miniseries, and won an Emmy award for NBC’s “A Mother’s Courage: The Mary Thomas Story.”
