CBS’ Eye on Frost series

NEW YORK — Veteran broadcaster Sir David Frost’s first cable production will be seen on the CBS Eye on People channel.

CBS Cable announced Thursday the weekly one-hour series, “David Frost: Interviews I’ll Never Forget,” will premier April 5.

The series will be drawn from the thousands of hours of interviews conducted during his 30-year career. Highlights will be pulled from the long-running monthly PBS program “Talking with David Frost,” from the BBC series “Breakfast with Frost” and from his 1969-72 syndie “The David Frost Show.”

“How we are going to condense all the highlights of these interviews into one series is a real challenge,” Frost said. “But it’s a nice problem to have.”

On the new series, Frost will offer personal reflections about his many interviews, including Richard Nixon, Nelson Mandela, Robert and Rose Kennedy and John Lennon.

“Sir David has been one of the most pivotal figures in television,” Eye on People prexy Geoffrey Darby said.

Frost begins taping the series in March at the CBS Cable production facility in Stamford, Conn.
