Barry Humphries, creator of the well-known TV and stage personality Dame Edna Everage, will be given the Sir Peter Ustinov Endowment at this year’s Banff Rockie Awards on June 9 as part of the Banff Television Festival.

Humphries will be on hand at the TV fest, which takes place June 8 to 14, and Dame Edna will participate in a comedy session during the festival.

The Melbourne-born Humphries created the character of Dame Edna Everage in 1956, and she has been in the spotlight in numerous British stage productions and TV specials over the years.
