Frank Langella and Kathleen Chalfant today will be given the Joe A. Callaway Award by the Actors’ Equity Foundation. The award is given annually to an actor and actress for work in a classic play (one written before 1900) in a professional production in the N.Y. metropolitan area.
Langella won for his work in Strindberg’s “The Father” at the Roundabout Theatre Company. Chalfant was honored for her perf in “Henry V” at the Public Theatre/New York Shakespeare Festival. Each actor will receive $1,000 and a crystal trophy.
