NEW YORK — Maria Bello, just named a regular cast member on NBC’s “ER,” has landed a starring role opposite Ben Stiller and Elizabeth Hurley in “Permanent Midnight,” the David Veloz-directed film for Live Entertainment.
The film is based on Jerry Stahl’s autobiographical tale of how heroin addiction nearly ruined his successful career as a writer for TV. Bello plays a fellow heroin addict who becomes one of Stahl’s lovers. Stahl is being played by Stiller.
This fall, Bello starts regular rotations as pediatrician Dr. Anna Del Amico in TV’s top-rated show. Her last regular role in a series was “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” for CBS. She is repped by Gersh’s Paul Rosicker and managed by Brian Medavoy of More/Medavoy.
