PRAGUE – Barrandov Biografia, the production, sales and distribution arm of AB Barrandov, has added three new positions aimed at strengthening is presence as a distributor.
Denisa Strbova, formerly programmer of East European films at the Rotterdam Film Festival and in charge of guest relations at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, was named head of distribution. She’ll be responsible for acquiring and distributing foreign films along with Barrandov’s own product. Strbova told Daily Variety that she’ll be looking for pick-of-the-crop independent films for an upscale audience.
Vladan Raz takes up a new position as head of marketing. Previously a researcher and facilitator for BBC World Service, the 25-year-old Czech-born Australian is concurrently finishing up a law degree here. He said he expects to focus on market research for international and Czech production and distribution.
Renata Elhenicka becomes head of public relations. She previously held that position at the main Czech national radio station.
