NEW YORK — Joanna Pacitti, the 12-year-old actress fired from the starring role in Broadway’s “Annie,” and her parents have sued Macy’s for an unspecified amount, charging that the department store failed to honor the terms of the talent contest Pacitti won to get the role. The lawsuit was filed March 24 by Pacitti and her parents, Joseph and Stella Pacitti of Philadelphia, in the Montgomery County, Penn., common pleas court. Macy’s issued a statement saying the store had no involvement in the production or the decision to replace Pacitti with another actress. Pacitti won the talent search, sponsored by Macy’s, to land the “Annie” role last August. After a pre-Broadway tour, producers Timothy Childs and Rodger Hess, unhappy with her performance, replaced Pacitti with her 8-year-old understudy, Brittny Kissinger, who’s now appearing on Broadway. Attorney’s for Pacitti have announced plans to sue the producers.
