Tom Palmer, a film, television and stage actor who also was a casting director, died Nov. 22 of natural causes at the Mountain Vista Facility in Sand Point, Idaho. He was 85.
Palmer began his acting career guest starring on TV shows for “Philco Playhouse,” “U.S. Steel Hour,” “Kraft Television Theatre” and “Armstrong Circle Theatre.”
He later appeared in “Perry Mason,” “Wyatt Earp,” “The Twilight Zone” and “Alfred Hitchcock Presents.” He also was on “The Young and the Restless” as Bert Fowler.
In addition to television, Palmer acted on Broadway in “Joan of Lorraine” with Ingrid Bergman, “Macbeth” with Michael Redgrave, and “Galileo” with Charles Laughton.
His casting director credits include the television series “My World and Welcome to It,” “Cannon” and “Barnaby Jones.” He was the casting director of “The Young and the Restless” from 1982-1986.
Palmer is survived by a son.
