Veteran screenwriter Larry Ferguson, author of such scripts as “Alien 3,” “The Hunt for Red October,” “Highlander,” “The Presidio” and “Beverly Hills Cop 2,” has signed with the William Morris Agency, where he’ll be repped by Spencer Baumgarten and Josh Donen. Ferguson currently is working on a rewrite of “Have Gun Will Travel” for Warner Bros. Pic is being developed as a possible vehicle for John Travolta.

Rob Patillo has joined the New York talent department of Writers and Artists Agency. Before joining Writers and Artists, Patillo served as director of development for Miramax/Dimension Films in Gotham, and as head of development for Dimension in London. Patillo previously worked as an assistant to Elaine Goldsmith and Sue Liebman at ICM’s New York office.

Dutch actor Rutger Hauer, best known for his role as the sinister replicant in Ridley Scott’s “Blade Runner,” has joined United Talent Agency. He will be represented by David Schiff, Allison Band and Howard Cohen. Hauer’s other credits include “Soldier of Orange,” “The Hitcher” and “The Osterman Weekend.” He next appears in HBO’s Cold War thriller “Hostile Waters.”
