Richard M. Blumenberg

Richard M. Blumenberg, a cinema-photography professor at Southern Illinois U., died June 11 of leukemia in Carbondale, Ill. He was 62.

A member of the faculty since 1970, Blumenberg authored the textbook “Critical Focus: An Introduction to Film.” He also penned a number of screenplays and contributed articles to film magazines.

He is survived by his wife, Irena Grant, and two sons.
