John Bertera

John Bertera, founder and owner of the Holiday House, a Vegas-style showroom in Monroeville, Penn., died Friday of cancer. He was 78.

The Holiday House, which Bertera founded in 1955, has featured such entertainers as the Three Stooges, Liberace, Milton Berle, Wayne Newton, Phyllis Diller, the Supremes, Guy Lombardo, Sophie Tucker and Xavier Cugat with Abbe Lane and later Charo.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, as well as a son, a daughter, a sister, three brothers, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
