Fox senior VP stripes for Singh

Moving from his executive seat in the office of News Corp. chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch, Bedi A. Singh has been named senior VP of strategic planning and deputy chief financial officer of Fox Filmed Entertainment.

Since 1995, Singh has served as a senior VP attached to Murdoch’s Los Angeles office, where he oversaw special projects and strategic planning for the media conglom.

In his new role, Singh will oversee business development and information services as well as supervise several operating divisions. He will report to Simon Bax, senior VP and chief financial officer of Fox’s film division.

“I am delighted that Bedi will be joining the group. He already has extensive knowledge of Fox through his News Corp. responsibilities and will be an immediate help to the very strong team that we now have in place,” Fox Filmed Entertainment topper Bill Mechanic said in a statement.

Before his stint in the L.A. office, Singh spent three years as the group financial controller for News Intl. plc, News Corp.’s publicly traded European subsidiary. Singh joined News Corp. in 1992, after 10 years in England and West Africa working with accounting and consulting firm Arthur Andersen.

Singh attended the London School of Economics and Harvard Business School’s Program for Management Development.
