Trent Jones has been upped to vice president of current programs at Warner Bros. TV.
Jones will now head the current department, following Steve Pearlman’s promotion to senior vice president of drama development and current programs. The move was expected (Daily Variety, July 23).
Jones still will technically report to Pearlman, but he’s expected to run the department on his own because Pearlman is now focusing mainly on drama. Jones will supervise day-to-day creative activity for Waner Bros. TV’s 19 series.
Jones has worked in the current department since 1994, most recently as a director, supervising series such as “Friends,” “Family Matters,” “Veronica’s Closet” and “The Wayans Bros.” He first joined Warner Bros. (then Lorimar TV) in the research department in 1992 after spending five years as a stage actor.
