MTV taps Frank for veep post

Betsy Frank, for many years a top Madison Avenue network TV analyst whose predictions are given wide play in the press, has accepted an offer from MTV Networks to fill the newly created post of VP of research and business development.

In her new job, Frank will be responsible for coordinating the research operations of not only MTV but also its Viacom sisters VH1, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, TV Land and M2. Her job encompasses looking into new business opportunities both domestically and internationally for MTV Networks.

Frank, 51, was most recently executive VP of strategic media resources for Zenith Media Services in New York, which oversees the ad agencies Bates Worldwide and Saatchi & Saatchi.
