MGM has named Dan Taylor to the newly created position of executive VP for corporate finance.
He’ll be responsible for the development and implementation of financial growth strategies for the company, and will oversee the treasury, audit and tax departments.
Taylor’s hiring is actually his return to the MGM fold. He joined MGM in 1985 and was promoted to exec veepee of taxes a year later. Taylor also assisted in the sale of the studio to Turner Broadcasting System, and in the 1990 merger with Pathe Communications.
Taylor spent the last six years as an exec in Kirk Kerkorian’s Tracinda Corp., where he managed the company’s finances and investments, and helped explore new investment opportunities.
