MovieFone Inc. has tapped Jay Mattlin, former director of news audience research at NBC, to expand its own film research efforts.
Mattlin will develop audience data and research services for studios at MovieFone, a telephone film listing and ticket service. He will be based in the company’s New York office.
“Because of the nature of our interactive phone service, MovieFone accumulates a tremendous amount of data on moviegoers’ preferences,” said Andrew Jarecki, MovieFone’s chief exec. “We are excited about exploring our capabilities in this area, and Jay’s experience makes him well-suited to lead us in growing this aspect of our business.”
