Beefing up his production corps, manager/producer Jonathan Krane — who recently signed a two-year, first-look deal with Fox 2000 (Daily Variety, May 15) — has hired Lori Weintraub as executive VP of his Krane Group production banner.
Weintraub, together with Krane, will oversee the packaging and production of the company’s five-film feature slate, which includes an adaptation of “Underboss,” Peter Maas’ bio of mobster Sammy (The Bull) Gravano.
Weintraub joins Krane from Warner Audio/Video Entertainment, where she was the CEO and founder. She also served as exec VP and co-founder of Warner Vision Entertainment, the video division of the Warner Music Group.
Her production resume includes stints as executive VP of production at Lorimar Motion Pictures and as senior VP of production at MGM/UA during Alan Ladd’s tenure. While head of production at Guber Peters Entertainment, Weintraub oversaw the development and production of a slate that included the films “The Color Purple,” “The Witches of Eastwick” and “Batman.” The former entertainment attorney also served as a director of development for Don Simpson Prods.
Kimberlyn Lucken and Larry Arrick serve as development execs at the Krane Group.
