The commercial production division of George Lucas’ Industrial Light & Magic has tapped Kevin Townsend for the newly created position of VP and general manager, it was announced Monday by Jim Morris, president of parent company Lucas Digital.
“We needed to create this position in response to the tremendous growth in our commercial division during the past several years,” Morris said. The company recently added four directors to its roster and has expanded operations by 300%, according to Morris.
In several additional moves, Marcie Malooly has been upped to executive producer at ILM’s San Rafael facility and John Denis has joined as exec producer at the company’s Los Angeles office. Claire Worch, president of Worch & Co., also has been named West Coast sale rep for ILM commercial production.
