Horlick prez NBC Europe

Allan Horlick, a veteran NBC station exec, has been named president and managing director for NBC Europe, effective Aug. 4.

Horlick, who is currently president and general manager of WRC-TV, the NBC O&O in Washington D.C., replaces Roger Ogden, who will be leaving NBC to become prez and G.M. of the Gannett-owned KUSA, the NBC affiliate in Denver.

Horlick will be based in the NBC Europe offices in Hammersmith, west London, and will report to Andrew Lack, who oversees NBC’s international operations in Europe and Asia.

In his new post, Horlick will manage day-to-day operations, sales, programming and marketing of two services reaching more than 60 million households across Europe — NBC Europe, a general programming service, and CNBC Europe, a 24-hour business news and info channel.

Linda Sullivan has been appointed president and general manager of WRC, replacing Horlick.

Sullivan was previously G.M. of WJAR, the NBC O&O in Providence, R.I. She will move to D.C. June 2.
