Veteran international marketing doyenne Diana Hawkins has landed at Sony Pictures Entertainment, serving as the studio’s London-based international creative affairs veepee.

Hawkins, who most recently worked as a consultant to Live Entertainment and MGM/UA International, will report directly to Lucy Fisher and Gareth Wigan, the co-vice-chairmen of the Columbia/Tri-Star Motion Picture Group.

Since joining the biz in 1979 as an assistant at 20th Century Fox’s London offices, Hawkins has toiled for Goldcrest Films and Television as, separately, manager of publicity and of advertising; as international marketing veepee at the Samuel Goldwyn Co.; and for Mayfair Entertainment International as director, sales and marketing.

Hawkins’ mandate, per Wigan and Fisher, is to be the studio’s eyes, ears and entree into European co-production and co-financing opportunities, as well as establishing relationships with emerging European filmmaking talent.
