Duo boosted at U distrib’n

Nick Carpou and Mark Gaines have been promoted to the new posts of executive VP and general sales managers for Universal Pictures distribution, reporting to division president Nikki Rocco.

Carpou and Gaines will share responsibility for overseeing all domestic sales territories, with division managers Jack Finn, Albert Quaedvlieg and Dave Richoux as well as Canadian general manager Eugene Amodeo reporting to them.

Carpou is responsible for the eastern half of the U.S. and all of Canada while Gaines supervises the west.

Carpou began his career with Universal in 1982 as a booker in Seattle. He was named senior VP, national sales manager in 1994.

Gaines joined U in 1976 as a booker in the Atlanta branch office. He was also named senior VP, national sales manager in ’94.
