Comedy Central has promoted John Cucci to senior VP and chief financial officer.
Cucci will oversee strategic planning and financial matters for the network, a 50-50 joint venture of Viacom and Time Warner. He reports to Doug Herzog, Comedy Central’s president and CEO.
Cucci has been with Comedy Central since its inception in 1991, most recently serving as senior VP and controller.
Separately, Comedy Central said Tuesday it has tapped licensing agency Hamilton Projects Inc. to handle the merchandising of its offbeat new animated series “South Park.” Hamilton Projects is a subsidiary of Spelling Entertainment Group, of which Viacom owns a majority (75%) interest.
Among the “South Park” items expected to hit stores next year are hats, T-shirts and boxer shorts.
