Lori Goldklang Furie has been upped to VP of production at Sony’s Columbia Pictures unit, increasing her involvement in the development and production of projects for the studio’s slate.
Columbia president Amy Pascal, to whom Furie will now report directly, made the promotion official Tuesday. She said the new stripes-bearer’s portfolio will include oversight on Columbia projects “Stuart Little” and “American Neurotic,” among others.
Furie was previously a creative executive at Columbia, a post she had held since 1993. Prior to that, Furie worked in the production division at Warner Bros. Pictures and in the music business, as manager of artists such as George Michael and Jodi Watley.
The UCLA grad will continue to be stationed at the studio’s Culver City headquarters.
