Buena Vista Pictures Marketing has upped Jim Gallagher to VP of creative film services and named John Sabel as VP of creative print, the Mouse division announced Tuesday.
In his new post, Gallagher will oversee the creation of audiovisual material for all live-action pics released under the Touchstone, Hollywood and Disney labels.
Sabel, who has worked on many of the studio’s recent ad campaigns as a freelancer, will be in charge of creating one-sheets, outdoor ads and standees for all Buena Vista releases.
Both report to Oren Aviv, senior VP of marketing and creative advertising.
“Jim and John are two incredibly talented individuals, and they each bring to the respective new assignments a great sense of creativity, style and marketing savvy,” Aviv said in a statement.
Gallagher joined the Mouse in 1996 as director of creative film services. He has worked on such pics as “The Rock,” “Phenomenon,” “101 Dalmatians” and “Ransom.”
Before Disney, he was with MGM/UA in the same role.
Sabel started freelancing with Buena Vista several years ago. His creation of the one-sheet for “101 Dalmatians” earned him the Key Art Award. Prior to that, he was with Rod Dyer Design for five years, creating ads for “Naked Lunch” and “Reservoir Dogs.”
