AUCKLAND — TVNZ announced its new topper Thursday — a 44-year-old Kiwi executive with a strong marketing background but nothing in the way of broadcasting experience.
He is Rick Ellis, G.M. of sales and marketing for Australia’s Ansett airline in Melbourne. He is a former managing director of Wang U.K. and Wang New Zealand.
TVNZ chairwoman Roseanne Meo said his experience in marketing and brand management were vital to the future direction and development of the company.
The previous topper, Australian Chris Anderson, ankled in September. Since then, the pubcaster has undergone major structural changes aimed at making it more competitive. Ellis takes up his position in February.
