Farrell forms Addiction ‘relapse’

Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell has organized a “relapse” of Jane’s Addiction, the band he fronted and earned considerable kudos with in the late ’80s and early ’90s. The band will begin a national tour Oct. 25 in San Francisco with the headlining slot in Farrell’s one-time only Enit Festival.

Vocalist Farrell will be joined by guitarist Dave Navarro (currently with the Red Hot Chili Peppers) and drummer Stephen Perkins, and Chili Pepper bassist Flea. Original bassist Eric A declined the invitation. Warner Bros., which issued two Addiction discs, will release an as-yet-untitled album Oct. 18 of live tracks from 1989-’91, unreleased studio tracks and demos.
