Arista Nashville has upped Mike Dungan to senior veep/G.M., giving the 27-year music industry vet over-sight for the successful label’s operation. Working alongside label prexy Tim DuBois, Dungan will also be respon-sible for the activities of Arista’s sister labels Career, Arista Latin and Arista Austin.
“Arista’s success over the last seven years is to a big extent due to Mike’s talents and hard work,” said DuBois. “He has been my right arm, my partner and my friend.”
Much like Arista Records, its pop label counterpart, Arista Nashville under DuBois and Dungan has become suc-cessful with a small but potent artist roster numbering in the teens.
And despite a leveling off in country music sales and contracting radio playlists, DuBois and his crew have consis-tently surpassed revenue projections each year since the label’s bow in 1990.
“I am forever grateful for the faith bestowed in me to lead this label with the best staff in the business and to serve (an) incredible group of artists,” said Dungan.
Previously, Dungan was senior veep of sales and marketing, capping a rise within the RCA/BMG family that began in 1979 as a pop music promotion rep in the East.
